"We have seen some big challenges in our long history, but surviving a pandemic might rank very high on our list of organizational achievements! From navigating quarantines and classroom closures to retaining staff and revenue sources, this has been another historical and eventful year. The real heroes of 2021 are the amazing, dedicated staff members who give of themselves each and every day and the incredibly generous and compassionate community members who believe in our mission. We wouldn't be the agency we are today without them."
"2021 was a year of incredible adaptation and change. It has been inspiring to witness how Chambliss Center for Children listens to the needs of our children and responds as those needs arise or shift - always keeping what’s best for our families at the forefront of all we do. Chambliss is an extraordinary organization providing educational, emotional and physical support to children in our community who need it most. It is such an honor to work alongside the staff and Board of Directors as we continue Chambliss Center for Children’s 150 year legacy of commitment to children and families in Chattanooga."
"After 50 years of service I did not expect my final 365 days to be so difficult! On the other side of that coin, a lot of what I had advocated for, so we could grow the services that we offered, happened in 2021. The completion of the classrooms in the lower level of the gym building, the purchase of another building to serve the youth in our Transitional Living Program, and of course establishing the partnership with Isaiah 117 House occured in 2021. I am so appreciative to the staff, board and all of our friends that honored me with a special celebration and naming the gym building the Acord Building in my honor. The 2021 year was hard, but I'm confident that Katie and her staff, the Board of Directors, along with all our friends and supporters will continue to press forward to serve the children, youth, and families of our community!"

As an extension of our main program, Chambliss Center for Children also manages six off-site Early Childhood Education programs throughout the Chattanooga community. Four of these centers have their own Board of Directors, however, through a management agreement our administrative staff do all of the back office work, and our program staff manage the day-to-day operations of each one. These centers use the same sliding fee scale and follow the same curriculum as the program on our main campus.
